A combination vaccine: PEDIARIX is a combination vaccine that can help protect your child against five serious diseases—diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis B, and polio—with just three doses of one vaccine.*; Vaccinating with PEDIARIX can reduce the number of shots your child receives by as many as six in the first year of life. Fewer shots may reduce the pain and discomfort associated with multiple vaccines.; PEDIARIX provides the same level of protection against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, and polio as separate shots that children have received for many years, with up to six fewer shots during your baby’s first year! PEDIARIX has an established safety profile based on 14 clinical trials.; PEDIARIX offers flexibility for “catch-up” vaccinations, meaning that it can be used on children up to seven years of age (before the seventh birthday) who start their shots late or are more than one month behind.

Important Safety Information
In studies, the most common side effects of PEDIARIX were pain, redness, and swelling where the shot was given, fever, and fussiness. Fever occurred more often with PEDIARIX than with separately given vaccines. PEDIARIX should not be given to children who are allergic to any part of the vaccine, including yeast and certain antibiotics (neomycin and polymyxin B). As with any vaccine, rare, unexpected side effects may occur and vaccination may not protect everyone receiving the vaccine. As with any vaccine, vaccination may not protect 100% of susceptible individuals.

*PEDIARIX is for infants born to mothers without evidence of hepatitis B infection. It is typically given at two, four, and six months of age. PEDIARIX can also be used in children younger than seven years of age who need “catch-up” vaccinations.
